LBHS Athletics Update
As the outdoor temperatures cool fall sports playoffs heat up! Our Girls Soccer team captured the silver medal in the City Championship and have the set the pace for the rest of the pack. SR/JR Boys and Girls Volleyball teams are all in action this week as the road to Cities begins. On the gridiron, the Lords have made their mark, both JR and SR teams have advanced to the City Championship Game. JR’s play on Wednesday at 4:30, SR’s play on Thursday night at 7:30, both games are on Hellard field at Shouldice Athletic Park.
Spring Trip to Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre – Parent Info Meeting
We’re excited to offer students an unforgettable experience at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) from March 31 to April 4, 2025, the week we return from spring break.
Join us for a virtual parent information meeting on Wednesday, November 6, at 6:00 PM via Microsoft Teams. We’ll cover trip details, including cost, travel, itinerary, and lodging. Application forms will be provided, and space is limited to 22 students, so a waitlist may be necessary.

Transition from Grade 12 to Post Secondary
Self Advocacy Sessions -FREE to all Grade 12 prospective IPP students who have applied to attend MRU in the Fall of 2025.
All students requesting exam accommodations for final or diploma exams, need to use those accommodations throughout the semester. Students need to bring their own plug in headphones for: reading comprehension, support with focus, anxiety reduction, and to block out distractions. Final and diploma exam times include extra time.

2. Access to The Learning Lounge after instruction. A space available for students on an IPP to: work, regulate, focus, use a chromebook, get one on one support, use voice typing for written work, set up exam accommodations
3. Exam Accommodation for Multiple Choice Exams (reader on a chromebook with headphones in The Learning Lounge).
4. Exam Accommodation for Written Response (voice typing on a chromebook with headphones in The Learning Lounge).
Important Information
All students have a target for self advocacy, particularly grade 10s. Students will be reminded and encouraged to use their IPP accommodations. Students will be reminded and encouraged to communicate with their teachers about strategies and accommodations that have been successful or that they'd like to try. Exam accommodations need to be requested with the teacher at least 1-2 days before exam. Students need to bring their own plug in headphones for multiple choice exam reader. Students must use exam accommodations throughout the semester in order to be able to use for final exams and diploma exams.

Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards are open to students of all abilities. To be considered for the Award, applicants must meet be:
- In good academic standing.
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
- Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated).
TD Scholarships for Community Leadership
Have you shown exceptional leadership in helping to make a meaningful and lasting difference in your community? We’d love to hear about your community leadership efforts and what inspired you to get involved. We’re more interested in the mark you’re making in the world than the marks you’re getting in the classroom.
