Athletics News

For full athletics schedules and game details, visit CSHSAA or our school calendar which is available here. Congratulations to all our Basketball teams as they wrapped up their seasons of play. Our JR boys won the City Championship in a thriller come back win for the ages over Robert Thirsk HS. Not to be out done our Wrestling team headed off to the Provincial Championships this weekend. With more than 10 athletes qualifying for Provincials it is one of the largest contingents to represent the Calgary Zone. Our Badminton team is in the thick of their season as they get ready for divisional  tournaments. Spring sports have started and kudos to all of the coaches who are doing their best practicing indoors while the snow melts.   

Fine Arts News

The spring production is in rehearsal, Radium Girls looks to be a great show. The bad department held their annual feeder school concert this week with a great turnout.

Yukon Field Study Trip – September 17–24, 2026

Lord Beaverbrook High School is planning an exciting Yukon Field Study Trip for September 17–24, 2026 (8 days). Students will spend several days in Whitehorse and then travel to the Kluane Lake Research Station (KLRS) for an immersive field science experience. The approximate all-inclusive per student cost is $3200. This opportunity is only available to current Grade 10 and Grade 11 students, as the trip takes place at the beginning of the next school year. Space is limited to 20 students, so we expect the trip to fill quickly.

Interested students should speak with Mr. Mussie in Room 223 as soon as possible.

Student Pickup

Student pick-up and drop-off is to only take place in the student parking lot not in the front parking lot. The student lot is the one that is adjacent to the Acadia Recreation Center. 

Student Fees

Grade 10 & 11 Student Registration 

Registration presentations will take place on Monday March 9 in the morning for Grade 10 & 11 students. Please check our school website for course descriptions and information regarding streaming for core subjects.  

Summer School Information

March 11th | Unique Pathways Spring Info Night 2026, 5:00- 7:00PM 

Location: Career and Technology Centre at Lord Shaughnessy High School 2336 - 53 Ave SW, Calgary, AB  

Unique Pathways would like to invite high school students and parents to our spring Info Night about Dual Credit and Exploratory programming! Students will get the opportunity to ask questions of industry experts, connect with post-secondary representatives, and explore course outlines and materials. It’s a chance to discover opportunities that support their interests and help shape potential career paths. We will also be offering brief sit-down information sessions for students and parents to learn more about Unique Pathways and Off-campus Education, and to ask questions of our team. Please note that these are general information sessions; specific program details will not be shared. The session will be repeated multiple times throughout the event, with times posted at the entrance. Register Here Registration is not required; however, it is helpful for our team in ensuring we have proper representation for programs of interest to students and families. IPP Dates 

  • Semester 2 IPP will be emailed March 13 for those who returned the consent to email page from Nov 26. This second IPP will include: semester 1 final current learning and semester 2 initial current learning.    
  • Student Conference March 19 & 20 
  • Students should discuss with new semester 2 teachers, strategies and accommodation that work. -Students are encouraged to access exam accommodations in The Learning Lounge: audio reader (bring headphones), voice typing.

Calgary Public Teachers and ATA Local 38 annual scholarship programs. 

  The ATA Local 38 Heritage Scholarship Award is to recognize students of outstanding merit 

or students entering a vocational post-secondary program for adults with developmental disabilities, whose parent/stepparent/guardian 

is a current, retired, or deceased member of Calgary Public Teachers Local 38. 

  DEHR Scholarships 

  • The John Laurie Scholarship is to recognize an Indigenous student with outstanding merit within the Calgary Board of Education.
  • The 2SLGBTQQIA+ Scholarship Award is to recognize a 2SLGBTQQIA+ identifying student or ally with outstanding merit within the Calgary Board of Education.
  • The Violet King Scholarship is to recognize a Black student with outstanding merit within the Calgary Board of Education. 

  Please note, the DEHR scholarships are open to any graduating CBE student who meet the eligibility guidelines. They do not have to be related to a Local 38 Member. Scholarship Information, requirement guidelines and deadlines for application can be found here:
