Dear parent(s) and guardian(s),

Thank you for a wonderful week of school. We have three solid weeks of classes before the next break in instruction. Teachers have been asked that within the context of their classrooms they only allow 1 student out of class at a time. Please take a moment and remind your student that if they do need to leave the classroom at anytime the expectation is that they return in a timely fashion. This will ensure that we limit the interruptions to instructional time.

Attendance

One of the best predictors of graduation outcomes is attendance. Early in the semester like this marks a great time to check-in with your student and see how their attendance looks. We understand there can be many reasons for students to miss classes. If you know your student will not be in school or needs to leave early please make an effort to call into the main office and let us know. By the end of this week teachers will have reached out to you at home if there are attendance or achievement concerns. This is being done in the spirit of partnership, together if we can provide early support to your student we avoid the stress of a last push at the end of the semester.

Cell Phone Policy

To support focused learning environments, students are expected to have cell phones put away during instructional time, unless a teacher has approved their use for learning. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations with your child.
For more information, please see the CBE Student Personal Mobile Devices Policy (AR 6008):
